My Story
Born in the serene hill station of Ooty, in the Western Ghats of South India, and raised in Hyderabad, Dr. Shaila Raveendran is a pioneer in Surgical Eye Banking, Grief Counseling, and Transformational Coaching. She holds the distinction of being the first Indian to specialize in Surgical Eye Banking, shaping the future of vision restoration and emotional healing.
Trained at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital & Medical Center in Baltimore, USA, Dr. Shaila is certified by the International Federation of Eye Banks across the USA, Czech Republic, and Egypt.
In 1989, she pioneered India’s first “Hospital Program” for eye donation, working extensively in super-specialty hospitals to harvest human eyes for sight-giving corneal transplantations. With profound dedication, she has personally counseled over 19,020 families, inspiring them to donate the eyes of their loved ones - turning loss into a legacy of vision.
